Airport Link urged to cut rush hour fares
Wednesday, 30 Nov -0001 12:00
The proposed fare cut is aimed at encouraging more employees and officials working at Suvarnabhumi airport to use the non-stop Express Line during rush hours in the morning and evening.
The Airport Rail Link system connects inner Bangkok at Phaya Thai station to Suvarnabhumi airport.
To optimise the Express Line use, workers should be allowed to pay cheaper City Line rates, Mr Jarupong said.
The City Line fare from Phaya Thai to Suvarnabhumi is 45 baht (1.45 USD) while it is 90 baht (2.9 USD) for the Express Line. He also said ordinary passengers should be offered fare cuts on the Express Line outside of rush hours to draw more commuters.
