Partnership between airlines and rail operators strengthens
Tuesday, 06 Mar 2012 08:34
airrail TV speaks with Hugh Aitken, UK Commercial Manager of easyJet about cooperation between airlines and rail operators, opportunities for integrated ticketing and how to overcome challenges of competition.
“Our job is to get passengers into the airport and rail can take over from there, be it to the city centre or around the region. Of course, there are situations where we compete, but we thrive in competition. The threat is when governments and authorities intervene in the process and create more favourable conditions for one or the other operator”, Hugh said to airrail TV.
We will discuss the possibilities and challenges for such air-rail partnerships in The Future of AirRail – Innovations conference, taking place in Stockholm on 24-25 May this year.
Yu-Ming Sie, Commercial Director of Air France KLM and Markus Pauly, General Manager Commercials & Development Hub Frankfurt at Lufthansa will share their best practices working with rail operators and discuss opportunities for future cooperation.
