Around 150 to 200 CISF personnel could be posted along with vehicle-borne Quick Reaction Teams at all six stations of the 23-km corridor.

At a speed of 120 km per hour, it will take 18 minutes to reach Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport from New Delhi Railway Station and another three minutes from the airport to Dwarka Sector 21. The line has total of six stations - New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aero City, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and Dwarka Sec-21.

The air-rail service will feature six-carriage trains supplied by Spanish company CAF, each seating 800 passengers and capable of reaching a maximum speed of 135 kmph. Passengers making use of the link will also have the option to check-in their bags at three city stations — New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium and Dhaula Kuan.

Each carriage has LCD screens showing flight information for the convenience of travellers, while half the compartment of every six-coach train is reserved for luggage.

The project is being undertaken by Reliance Infrastructure, the company in charge of operating the line for 30 years.
