fyraOne of such partnerships between KLM/AF, NS Hispeed (Dutch Railways) and NMBS Europe (Belgian Railways) will be presented at the ‘Future of AirRail – Innovations & Modern Technologies’ conference in Riga, Latvia on 18-19 May.

Dirk Brekel, Business Development Director of NS Hispeed will talk about Fyra, the air-rail project that will be fully launched by the end of this year when the last leg of the high speed rail line between Amsterdam and Brussels will be operational.

The high speed train calls directly at Schiphol International airport as well as Brussels and Antwerp main train stations.

Fyra high speed train will be priced, sold and distributed as a KLM flight, including flight number and seat reservation via all GDS systems and websites.

Accroding to Brekel, this air-rail solution can be used by all scheduled airlines and is available for other rail operators.

The journey time on Fyra between Amsterdam and Rotterdam is less than 45 minutes and from Rotterdam to Schiphol - 26 minutes.
