NFC based ticketing technologyA focus group of 45 people will be testing the system during the coming three months. The volunteers will get Nokia NFC phones with Aeroexpress Mobile application already installed on the devices.

To buy the ticket, passengers will need to put their phone to the NFC tag on a smart poster. The Aeroexpress Mobile application is then automatically launched and a ticket order is formed in result of the interaction between phone and tag. To finalise the purchase, passengers will need to approve the sale and the ticket will be downloaded to the phone. The cost of ticket will be charged to the passenger's call credit.

"The launch of NFC project is an important step within the framework of general innovative policy of Aeroexpress aimed at using cutting-edge technologies in the passenger service. By offering our clients this NFC service we ensure an alternative method of buying and showing tickets and let them enjoy such advantages as ease of use, transaction quickness and cashless payment opportunity," Rustam Akiniyazov, Commercial Director of Aeroexpress said.

Aeroexpress cooperates with Processing Technologies, developer of NFC service, in ticket sale and control system automation projects. The development of test zone for Aeroexpress-based NFC mobile services is supported by the Infocommunication Union comprising the leading mobile operators.

As one of the most active NFC-equipment market player, Nokia has become a technical partner of the project.
