jakarta-airport“Several countries have shown their interest to join the bid,” Susantono said, adding that those countries included China, Korea and Japan.

According to him, the government had revised the master design of the project, adding some elevated lines.

The construction of the 33-kilometer railway line would require $1.1 billion in investment, of which $166.5 million has been allocated by the government for land acquisition.

“The bid will be held after the land acquisition is completed,” Tundjung Inderawan, Director General of Railway Transportation at the Transportation Ministry said.

Tundjung said the government would disburse the funds in three instalments.

It is expected to finish the project by 2014.
