The Access Excellence award is awarded to Conference Venues, Stadiums, Airports, Universities and other iconic public buildings. The Sofitel London Heathrow was the only hotel shortlisted and was commended not only on the quality and range of facilities but the staff training, awareness and delivery of hospitality excellence in terms of guest and visitor accessibility needs.

Sofitel London Heathrow is the only hotel at Terminal 5 (T5) at the UK’s most central transport hub. The 605-bedroom Sofitel London Heathrow is joined to T5 with a direct covered walkway and is just 21 minutes from central London on the Heathrow Express Rail. It also has the largest onsite, undercover parking facilities in the area.
“Sofitel London Heathrow is not an airport hotel; it’s a luxury hotel which just happens to be at an airport. Indeed, we have created a destination hotel in its own right which combines the ultimate in accessibility with world class facilities”, explains Surinder Arora, chairman of Arora Hotels, owners of the hotel which operates under a Sofitel franchise.
