Sweden:
Arlanda Express introduced a Two for One Christmas offer where two adults can travel together for 280 SEK (27 EUR). If someone is travelling without a partner, Flytoget invites them to pick a travel buddy at the waiting hall at Stockholm Central Station or at the Arlanda Visitor Center. Arlanda has introduced a Pickup Point where the passengers can wait for a travel partner for the train journey. Stockholm is the city in the world with the largest amount of single households, so the chance of having many visitors at the Pickup Point should be good.
Norway:
To ease the stress of holiday travel on 17 December Flytoget introduced a Check-In service for Norwegian Airlines passengers at the city terminal in Oslo. On the opening day of the new facility Flytoget organised a check-in race, which was won by a student from Oslo who checked-in her bags just in 23 seconds.
Russia:
Aeroexpress: Due to the significant increase in passenger traffic in the holiday days, from 24 to 31 December 2009 the Aeroexpress Company added two addition electric cars to the train, running to the Moscow Vnukovo Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports.
In January 2010, Aeroexpress also plans to introduce business class carriages for trains running from Belarusian Railway Station to Sheremetyevo Airport. The new wagons will offer a high level of comfort and free additional services: soft drinks, and magazines, assistance by a qualified service personnel and wireless Internet access from February 2010.
The single Business Class ticket will cost 700 rubles (16.5 EUR) for adults and 350 rubles (8 EUR) for children. In addition, the passenger will be able to book a trip in advance, within 15 days prior to departure, by calling the hotline of the Aeroexpress Company: 8-800-700-33-77 (free within Russia number).
Australia:
Brisbane’s airport rail link Airtrain recently extended its service to Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast and like many airport rail links introduced a special Christmas offer for kids: Children aged 5-14 travel free between the Airport and City stations when accompanied by an adult.
