The environmental assessment study will be later published for comments.

The submitted high speed rail line proposal includes three alternative routes. The preferred alternative runs along the new international airport planned at Corvera. The proposed route would be the shortest but will require a tunnel about 7 miles long.

Secretary of Infrastructure of the Murcia’s Region Socialist Party (PSRM-PSOE), Cecilio Hernandez, stressed the importance of this project, “it is very technically complex and most costly alternative, but it will provide a rail link with the future airport”.
