East Corridor project is open for public comments

According to the Preferred Alternative, the East Corridor will be double-track electric multiple unit (EMU) commuter rail line with 6 stations. The trains will run every 15 minutes and the travel time from Denver downtown to DIA will be 29 minutes. The Preferred Alternative generates an estimated 37,900 average daily riders in 2030, states the FEIS. |

The construction of the East Corridor would likely be funded through a combination of local, federal, and private sources. The local funds would be provided through RTD sales tax revenues and bond proceeds and by local governments. Federal funding is anticipated from the FTA New Starts grants programme.
