Richard joins Heathrow Express from tickex, a successful consumer facing internet technology company, where he was chief executive.

“Heathrow Express is the UK’s favourite train service, and plays an important role, supporting the UK’s hub airport with a fast and reliable service from central London,” says Robinson. “There are many great opportunities to grow our business by being ambitious and innovative and we hope to build on our e-ticketing initiatives and other services, demonstrating great value for customers and commercial partners alike.

We must also continue to develop international awareness of the Heathrow Express, to support the whole Heathrow business and ensure that visitors to Britain can enjoy the welcome we provide. With an expected 88% of visitors arriving for the Olympics coming through Heathrow we will be ideally placed to showcase the high standards which have put us at the top of the National Passenger Survey for the past three years.”

Richard has previously worked as the operations director for a UK subsidiary of Anglo-American - a FTSE 100 natural resource company - and as a chemical engineer at ICI Acrylics. Richard holds a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Nottingham University, an MBA from HEC Paris School of Management and is a Sainsbury Management Fellow.
