Butkevics pointed out that the airport's management is beginning to think about reserving the necessary land and constructing the necessary infrastructure.
According to him, after the airport's development project is complete, Riga hopes to become the largest airport in the Baltic States, serving 20 million passengers per year. In few years time further expansion is foreseen with some 45 million passengers per year.
